MITS DeliveryDate: show your customers an exact delivery date instead of an estimated delivery time

Want to strengthen your customers' trust and make purchasing decisions easier? Our MITS DeliveryDate module converts the usual delivery time text (e.g. "3-4 days") into an exact delivery date. This creates transparency and gives your customers greater confidence. Imagine your customers seeing a precise statement such as "Between 30.12.2025 and 02.01.2026 if payment is received today" instead of a vague timeframe. That makes a big difference to the online shopping experience.

How delivery date calculation works

Setup could hardly be simpler. In the admin area, enter a single number of delivery days for the relevant delivery status (e.g. 3 for 3 days), or two numbers separated by a colon for a wider range (e.g. 3:6 for 3-6 days). Values are always entered in days, not weeks. Special text-based delivery statuses such as "Currently unavailable" are not changed by the module and remain as they are.

The module automatically takes the following into account in its calculations:

• Weekends (Sundays and, optionally, Saturdays).
• Established public holidays such as New Year's Day, Easter, Labour Day, Whitsun, German Unity Day and Christmas.
• You can easily add other non-delivery days in the admin area, for example company holidays or individual public holidays.

This intelligent calculation ensures that the displayed delivery date remains realistic and reliable.

Greater visibility for delivery dates

The calculated delivery date is displayed in more than just the product detail view. Depending on your template, it can also appear in the shopping cart, on the order overview page and in the order confirmation email. The delivery date is also stored in the database so you and your customers can view it at any time. This ensures consistently transparent communication throughout the entire ordering process.
