For example, a Christmas or winter slider can be displayed automatically every year from 24.12. to 06.01., even across the turn of the year. Once the period ends, the slider disappears automatically and reappears the following year without you having to edit the entry again.
The manual status setting is retained: you can enable or disable a slider generally, while the start date, end date and recurring periods additionally control whether it should currently be visible.
Modern image delivery for PageSpeed: WebP, fallbacks & srcset
MITS ImageSlider can provide images automatically as WebP while also generating a JPG/PNG fallback. Visitors therefore always see a correct image, even in browsers without WebP support.
The module also supports optimised delivery via <picture> with multiple resolutions (srcset). A more detailed picture set with separate images for desktop, tablet and mobile, plus additional variants, allows the browser to select the most suitable image size precisely.
Important: GIFs remain GIFs – animated GIFs are not converted, so shop operators can continue using animations in the slider.
For existing slider images, an improved admin tool is also available to generate image variants afterwards. Processing is now considerably more convenient: instead of manually clicking through several pages or limits, the tool automatically processes all existing slider images in multiple steps. Progress is clearly displayed, including information on which variants have been generated or already found.
Import from Banner Manager
Another highlight is the new import from Banner Manager in modified eCommerce Shopsoftware. Existing banner groups and their associated entries can be transferred to MITS ImageSlider. This makes switching from the classic Banner Manager to the more flexible ImageSlider significantly easier.

Imported images are processed like normal ImageSlider images, rather than simply copied. This allows the appropriate WebP, JPG/PNG fallback and srcset variants to be generated automatically. A dry run is available before the actual import so you can check which banners would be transferred. Previously imported banners are detected to avoid unnecessary duplicates.
