The new modified eCommerce 3.1.6 is here: update your shop now!
The modified eCommerce community has released its next stability and bug fix update. Version 3.1.6 Rev 16563 fixes a number of critical bugs, optimises the integration of key modules such as PayPal and Afterbuy, and improves the admin interface. Find all the details in the changelog here and learn why this update matters for the stability of your online shop.
Focus on stability and critical bug fixes
This update primarily focuses on restoring the stability and accuracy of the shop's core functions. In particular, errors in order processing and price calculation that could lead to inaccuracies have been corrected. A stable foundation is essential for high customer satisfaction and low checkout abandonment rates.
The main bugs fixed (extract from the changelog):
- Shipping logic: A critical bug (`#3031`) has been fixed in which the shipping zone was not correctly taken into account when changing the shipping method. This ensures correct price calculation for different destination areas.
- Statistics stability: Opening the sales statistics (`stats_sales_report.php`) in the admin area caused a database error (`#3026`). This has now been fixed, enabling reliable analysis.
- Discount calculation: Incorrect information for discount coupons with percentage values (`#3032`) has been corrected.
- State entry: Problems with support for state input fields (`#3030`) have been fixed.
- Inactive products: Errors when displaying inactive products via the statistics tab in the admin area (`#3036`) have been corrected.
Module and interface updates for everyday e-commerce
Updating external interfaces is crucial to ensuring compatibility with key partners and services. Version 3.1.6 brings important adjustments in this area:
- PayPal update: The integration of the most popular payment provider has been brought up to date. This also includes the fix for the `paypalacdc` module and the relative path for ajax.php (`#3033`).
- Afterbuy integration: The update (`#3027`) ensures that `ot_payment` discounts are correctly taken into account in the Afterbuy interface.
- CAO interface: The inventory management interface to CAO has also been updated.
- Micropayment status: A missing "refunded" status and a related PHP error (`#3039`) have been fixed for Micropayment.
- Site Search 360: Site Search 360 (Semknox) product search has been updated, improving usability and therefore indirectly improving shop SEO.
Performance and admin improvements
Particular attention has been paid to support for modern image formats and general system maintenance:
- WebP fixes: Corrections have been made for WebP images when copying and deleting categories and products.
- Scheduled task log: To reduce database load and improve maintainability, the scheduled task log is now automatically deleted after one month.
- Installer fixes: Several issues with the installer backup, particularly relating to `utf8mb4_unicode_ci` and other collations (`#3044`, `#3045`), have been fixed, making future updates safer.
- Various bug fixes: Numerous other bug fixes and corrections to various PHP warnings ensure smoother operation in the background.
